Credit Card Security

We exercise a vigilant credit card fraud prevention scheme and we do our very best to protect the security of all of your personal information, including any credit card information that you may entrust us with. Every order placed using a credit card as the payment method is scrutinised prior to any goods being shipped. We may contact you to obtain further information before shipping your goods. In some circumstances we may even ask for a faxed copy of your credit card and/or statement. Please do not be offended if we do ask for these. It is both for your protection as well as ours.
All our credit card transactions occur in "real time". What this means is that after you click the final order confirmation button, your credit card details are electronically encrypted and checked for fund availability and status (ensure that the card has not been reported lost or stolen). No human intervention occurs at all during the entire validation process. This means that the card number is never seen by any person.
We conform to the global requirements of Visa and MasterCard for online credit card trading. These terms are very clear and amongst other things dictate that we may not store your credit card details in any way shape or form. In fact we never even see your card number. When you enter your details at checkout time, they are passed using 128 bit encryption to our bank for authorisation who then check with your bank if the funds are available and that the card has not been lost or stolen, etc. The response comes back to our bank and the transaction is either accepted or rejected based on the response from your bank.
Nobody can see your card details during or after the transaction except the relevant banks. The card details are not stored anywhere on the website or at our premises.
We protect your credit card information during transmission by using 128 bit Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software, which encrypts information you input and protects it while it is in transit across the Internet. This software is already built into your browser so no need to worry about installing any extra software. The encryption is indicated by a small image of a lock appearing in the lower right hand corner of your web browser window. When this lock appears you can be confident that your information is being transmitted securely to us and cannot be viewed or intercepted by any unauthorised individuals. If there is no image of a lock, do not enter any personal information especially credit card details. We will NEVER send you emails requesting your Credit Card details. If we do for some reason need to get your credit card number we will contact you by phone. Unless we can give you the correct transaction ID (which you will receive with every transaction) that our query is relating to, you can assume that it is somebody trying to impersonate us. Unless they give you the correct order number DON'T give them you card details!
